These pin cushions have a 9.5cm square tile in the base, which gives them a nice “firm” placement on your sewing table. The tops are machine embroidered on 100% cotton and the base is a complementary colour cotton. They are stuffed with polyester filling.

Dimensions: base - 9.5cm x 9.5cm and the height is about 5cm.

Quite a few years ago my patchwork group went to Foster for a weekend retreat. While there we dropped into a second hand/ antique store. I was delighted to find this pincushion. It had been well used but I could not resist!

I was very impressed with the tile base…giving the pin cushion a good solid “platform” below the stuffing…….which is what led me to make the two I have here for sale.

I had been missing a few needles over a while so I decided to pull all my pincushions apart,( yes, I have quite a few- just like sewing machines you can never have too many!!), retrieve the deeply embedded needles and put the pincushions back together again. This one offered up about 65 needles!! I KNOW I wasn’t missing that many……I wonder who this belonged to and what works they used the sewing needles for ………..
